Modern Warfare 3 launched with 37 brand-new weapons, as well as a host of old favorites from MW2 thanks to the Carry Forward feature. From versatile Assault Rifles to more lightweight SMGs, there’s a gun to suit every playstyle.
LMGs have been especially strong in the early MW3 meta, with the Pulemyot 762 and Holger 26 dominating matches. However, the category is set to grow even larger, as the devs have confirmed a new LMG – the TAQ Eradicator.

How to unlock MW3 TAQ Eradicator
Modern Warfare 3 players will be able to unlock the TAQ Eradicator through an in-game challenge once it’s released in-game, as the gun is currently unavailable. In the official blog announcing the launch weapons, this extra LMG was revealed to be arriving “shortly after game launch.”
While a specific date wasn’t given, it’s likely to be added sometime before MW3 Season 1 expected on December 6. Only time will tell what the challenge to unlock the TAQ Eradicator will require, but based on previous new guns, it could ask players to earn a certain number or type of kills with LMGs.

While players will have to wait to get their hands on the TAQ Eradicator, the blog did provide some details on the unique fire rate it will bring to the game.
The official description described it as a: “Fully automatic LMG that utilizes a prototype firing method going from a closed to open bolt systems starting out at a blazingly fast rate of fire before quickly slowing down and becoming more accurate.”
This should add an extra layer of skill to each gunfight as players try to get the most out of the TAQ Eradicator by managing its fire rate and accuracy.
