Speaking of modes, the new Modern Warfare title also features the popular War mode from WWII which was unique to it, and it saw teams getting a chance to defend and attack in a bid to destroy or save objectives.
The mode sees players acting out war scenarios such as pushing a tank through a street to an objective or planting explosives. Here’s everything you need to know about War in MW3.
What is War mode in Modern Warfare 3?
War is a game mode taken from Call of Duty: WWII that’s now in MW3, and it sees two teams going head to head, each with an opportunity to both attack and defend a variety of objectives. As in WWII, there are multiple objectives to get through or prevent in a match of War.
Objectives are inspired by war-like situations, and winning is completely reliant on either making sure your team completes or defends the objective. In the teaser, you can see players pushing a tank through a street, while one is in the gunner seat taking the defending team out.
Here is the developer’s official description of the mode:
“War mode is back! In this classic mode that was originally featured in Call of Duty: WWII (2017), players enter a vast, purpose-built landscape, with the focus on competing in linear engagements and progressing the battle through a series of objectives. Secure capture points, escort an armed tank, and launch an ICBM — this is War.”
As you can see from the description, the mode will feature unique maps that are “purpose built,” so players can expect a unique experience with this mode.
