The CODMAS holiday event brings the new Snowfight mode to Modern Warfare 3, adding some extra festive cheer to the game. Here’s everything you need to know about the Snowfight LTM in MW3.
Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 started with a bang, adding new 6v6 maps for players to learn alongside fresh weapons like the RAM-7 and XRK Stalker. The update also happened to arrive just in time for the holidays, with CODMAS dropping in both multiplayer and Warzone.
The event brings a host of festive content to both games, from themed challenges and rewards to limited-time modes. One of these modes is Snowfight, a brand-new Modern Warfare 3 mode for players to enjoy over the holidays.
Here’s everything you need to know about Snowfight in Modern Warfare 3.
MW3 Snowfight explained
Modern Warfare 3‘s Snowfight is a Christmas-themed version of Gunfight, the game’s 2v2 elimination mode. However, in this version, for the first two rounds regular loadouts are removed and players must rely on throwing snowballs to deal with the enemy team.
These require precise timing to land hits consistently and take multiple hits to kill an opponent, making for chaotic rounds. If you want to speed things up, “suspiciously” yellow snowballs found in the middle of each map are a guaranteed one-hit kill, but you’ll have to act fast to beat the other players to the punch.
After the first two rounds are over, round three brings back regular loadouts and plays out like a normal game of Gunfight. Snowballs can still be found around the map, offering an extra way to outplay the opposing team.
As always, players only have one life per round, with the first team to win three rounds emerging as the winner.
Snow is expected to be live in Modern Warfare 3 for the duration of the CODMAS event, which runs until January 3, 2024.
