The MCW, based on the iconic ACR, is emerging as an early favorite in Modern Warfare 3 and has become one of the most popular Assault Rifles. Here’s the best MCW loadout in MW3, built with the meta attachments, Perks, and Equipment.
Modern Warfare 3 is finally here, much to the excitement of the Call of Duty fans around the world. The latest title brings plenty of new features and weapons, with players looking to figure out the best guns before going into Season 1.
However, one familiar Assault Rifle, MCW has emerged as a dominant pick in the early game meta. The MCW is a versatile yet easy-to-use gun in MW3, allowing players to take down enemies at long ranges.
With that said, here’s the best MCW loadout for the Modern Warfare 3.

The MCW resembles the iconic ACR.
Best Modern Warfare 3 MCW loadout attachments
- Barrel: Second Line Mammoth Heavy
- Optic: Mk. 3 Reflector
- Stock: MCW Lancer Tactical Stock
- Grip: RB Talon-X3 Grip
- Magazine: 40 Round Mag
The MCW is an extremely reliable weapon that has very little recoil to deal with. Since it’s such a great all-rounder, we’ve gone with attachments that will enhance the best MCW loadout in MW3, by providing a variety of buffs.
The 40 Round Mag is imperative in the MW3 given the increase in health. Magazine attachments will be commonplace in MW3. While the weapon doesn’t have an aggressive recoil pattern, the RB Talon X-3 Grip will tame it further.
Then, the Mk. 3 Reflector will allow you to stay on target by utilizing the clean Optic. For a little extra mobility, we’ve opted for the MCW Lancer Tactical Stock, while the Second Line Mammoth Heavy Barrel brings the loadout together by increasing damage range.
Best Modern Warfare MCW loadout Perks & Equipment
- Vest: Infantry
- Gloves: Scavenger
- Gear: EOD Padding
- Boots: Covert
- Lethal: Frag Grenade
- Tactical: Battle Rage
- Field Equipment: Trophy System
When creating your MCW loadout in MW3, you’ll want to start by picking a Vest, and we think Infantry‘s buff to the Tactical Sprint mechanic is a great addition. Then, you’ll want to opt for the Scavenger Gloves to resupply ammo during long periods of play as you string kills together.
Next, the EOD Padding will increase your resistance to explosives and fire, increasing your survivability. Covert rounds out the ideal Perk and Gear combination as they’ll keep your footsteps quiet.
While the Frag Grenade and Flash Grenade are a tried-and-true combination, we recommend using Battle Rage, as the Tactical is extremely overpowered and likely to get nerfed soon. To round things out, the Trophy System will be a huge help when playing objective-based game modes like Hardpoint or Domination.

When it comes to Equipment in MW3, the Flash Grenade remains a strong option.
How to unlock MCW in Modern Warfare 3
MW3 players can unlock the MCW Assault Rifle by reaching Level 44. This means you’ll have to grind the game and earn a lot of XP before you can equip yourself with MCW, unlike the beta period which allowed MCW to be unlocked at Level 12.
However, the beta progress didn’t carry over into the full game, so you’ll have to unlock the MCW and all of its attachments all over again when jumping into Modern Warfare 3 post-release.
Best MCW alternatives in Modern Warfare 3
If the MCW isn’t cutting it for you in the Modern Warfare 3, we recommend switching to the Holger 556. On the other hand, if you want to switch to a close-range SMG that can tear through enemies, the Striker is another top choice.
