Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are gearing up to celebrate the holidays with the CODMAS event, bringing festivities in true Call of Duty fashion. Here’s everything we know about CODMAS so far including the LTMs, gameplay changes, and more.
Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 1 kicks off on December 6 and shortly after, Activision will celebrate the festive season with the CODMAS event. This new event brings brand-new LTMs, festive map overhauls, gameplay changes, and rewards to earn.
Here’s everything we know about MW3 and Warzone‘s CODMAS holiday event so far, including the expected release window and content.
When is CODMAS event in MW3 & Warzone?
Activision haven’t revealed the release date for the CODMAS event in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone but we expect it to arrive in early-mid December. However, MW3’s Santa’s Slayground event won’t arrive until the mid-Season which is expected in early 2024.
The last Call of Duty Holiday event was Vanguard’s Festive Fervor and it kicked off on December 16, 2021, and lasted until January 4. The 16th falls on a Saturday this year so it’s unlikely the dates will remain the same, but expect a similar timeframe.

Slay Ride Resurgence Warzone LTM
Although details haven’t been revealed yet, Warzone’s CODMAS event will bring a “Holiday-themed take on Resurgence,” where players are “in for a number of treats.”
Deck The Halls & Zombie Santa in Warzone
Warzone’s CODMAS event brings “Deck the Halls,” where Santa has dropped presents around Urzikstan in the form of holiday crates.
These crates, which surround Christmas trees, will be marked on your Tac Map. A flair will be sent up when a team approaches the area, and if you’re the first there, you must defend to claim the rewards and get the chance to fight Zombie Santa.
Picking up a key will spawn a “Merry” portal, which takes you to “a zombified Juggernaut Santa.” Defeating him will drop high-tier loot.

Slay Ride in Warzone CODMAS event
Urzikstan’s train will be taken over by Santa during Warzone’s CODMAS event, “handing out presents to well-behaved Operators” and meeting “naughty” players with “heavy resistance.”
What makes an Operator well-behaved or naughty in this event remains to be seen.
Snowball Fights in Warzone CODMAS event
Lethal Snowballs can be found around Urzikstan during the CODMAS event, included in both your default Loadout and marked on the map as a snowflake icon if you require more.
MW3 Santa’s Slayground LTM
The Santa’s Slayground mode hits multiplayer in Season 1.
During Modern Warfare 3’s Mid-Season, expected in early January, the Santa’s Slayground LTM will hit multiplayer. We don’t know what this new LTM is yet, but the devs said to expect festive map overhauls with “Shipmas” and “Hangover.”
With all of the Warzone content said to be arriving “In-Season” and Santa’s Slayground set for “Mid-Season,” it sounds like the multiplayer content will arrive after, but we should know for sure once the event officially begins.
MW3 & Warzone CODMAS event challenges & rewards
There will be new challenges to complete in both Warzone and MW3 during the CODMAS event that bring new rewards, although they haven’t been revealed yet.
