Modern Warfare 3 players were furious to discover that they were unable to access the Modern Warfare 3 campaign after its early access period kicked off. Players also noticed that their progress was reset, leaving the devs to announce a widespread service outage.
The Modern Warfare 3 campaign early access period did not get off to a smooth start. Shortly after the campaign early access period for MW3 became accessible, some players noticed that they were unable to access the missions due to an error.
The devs were quick to address the error and reported a fix soon after. However, things suddenly took a turn for the worse as a significant amount of players reported that their progress was being deleted after leaving and returning to the MW3 campaign.
What’s worse, players also reported that their MW2 and Warzone Battle Pass progress, weapon progress, Operators, and CoD Points had all reset as well. Given the widespread issues, the Call of Duty team took to X to announce “a service outage impacting multiple titles.”

It didn’t take long for the devs to provide an update on the situation. They assured fans that “Players should not observe a loss in Campaign completion progress.”
Given that players reported missing content across MW2, Warzone, and MW3, the issue was seemingly one that impacted Call of Duty’s active titles.
The anticipation for the Modern Warfare 3 campaign seems to have made matters worse amongst the community, as players voiced their frustration with launch day issues: “Game really goes down on the day of campaign release, I hope this isn’t worse on full release.”
While some players were understanding of the issues that could arise on launch day for the MW3 campaign, the main concern remained the return of all their in-game content: “Please make sure we get all of our skins/stats/rank back as well!”
