Modern Warfare 3’s release is imminent, marking the start of the next chapter in the ever-popular Call of Duty franchise. If you’re wondering how to turn off Tac-Stance, a new mechanic, in Modern Warfare 3, here’s what you need to know.
Modern Warfare 3 brings a brand new movement mechanic, apart from the return of classic maps, tons of new weapons, Equipment, and a transformed Perk system.
When it comes to movement in Call of Duty, Tac-Sprint has become a core element, prominent in recent titles as well as Warzone. Now, with MW3, Sledgehammer Games have chosen to introduce Tac-Stance, a new way for players to come out on top during close-quarters combat situations.
The stance puts players in between hip-fire and aiming down sights, retaining accuracy while giving them faster mobility than if they were to ADS. The feature can be toggled on and off, depending on your preference.
With that said, if you wish to turn off Tac-Stance in MW3, here’s everything you need to know.
How to disable MW3 Tac-Stance
To turn off the option for Tac-Stance when aiming down sights in Modern Warfare 3, follow these steps:
- Boot up the game and head to the Settings.
- Head to the ‘Controller‘ section.
- Go to the ‘Gameplay‘ tab.
- Scroll down to ‘Combat Behaviors.’
- Find the setting called ‘Tactical ADS Activation.’
- Press the setting and select the ‘Off’ option from the drop-down.
- Tac-Stance will now be disabled in-game.

Disabling Tac-Stance in MW3 is as easy as changing any other setting.
If you wish to enable Tac-Stance again in MW3, just simply follow the steps again and change the settings from ‘Off’ to ‘ADS + Down Button’ for the default. Some like to use the other inputs so select the one that you prefer.
Well, there you have it, that was how you can turn off Tac-Stance in MW3. For more guides, make sure you check out:
