The full Modern Warfare 3 release is fast approaching, with a scheduled launch date of November 10. To be ready to hop into the action on day one, here’s how to preload MW3, along with the date, time, and file size.
Modern Warfare 3 is just around the corner, bringing an engaging single-player campaign, a fresh multiplayer experience that includes all the maps from MW2 2009, the return of fan-favorite features, and the introduction of Zombies to the MW series for the first time.

Modern Warfare 3 preload date & time
Here is when players can preload Modern Warfare 3
- MW3 campaign on all platforms as of November 1 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 5 PM GMT
- MW3 multiplayer and Zombies on Battle.net as of November 6 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT
- MW3 multiplayer and Zombies on all platforms as of November 8 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT
Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer and Zombies Pre-Load is available on Battle net now. All other platforms Nov 8th at 10am PT.

Due to the MW3 early access period, the preload for Modern Warfare 3 is separated into different parts and dates, dividing the campaign from multiplayer and Zombies.
The full release of Modern Warfare 3 is slated for November 10 at 12 AM ET / 5 AM GMT / 9 PM PT (November 9).
How to preload MW3
In order to preload MW3, you will have to pre-order any digital edition of the game on your preferred platform. Once preloads go live, you will be able to download and preload all the game’s packs. Players can manage downloads by using Call of Duy HQ to install or uninstall specific packs.
Keep in mind that if you pre-order MW3, starting November 1 you can preload the campaign content packs and enjoy the campaign early access before launch.
MW3 file size
Downloading Call of Duty HQ, which includes Modern Warfare 3, will require over 200 GB of free space. Once downloaded, players will be able to access the Call of Duty HQ app to manage or uninstall any unwanted packs and cut down on MW3’s file size.
